Re: Carroll Injured Again
I was not impressed at all by Emineke in his cameo against Naaarige but on reflection he has to get up to pace with the fitness demands of the Premiership. It can take 3 -5 and sometimes more games especially for a player who has been in a far less demanding league. In other words, need to give him 5 or so games before we know if he has anything about him. My instinct is that he will not get a contract. I always remember Demba Ba's debut. Hit the post with his first real chance, caused problems for the opposition all game. You knew straight away even unfit he was the real deal.

I will just be looking for an improvement. In his case it might be that he scuffs one in. Lets hope so.

Re: Carroll Injured Again
Perhaps the injury is not quite as bad as first thought, latest reports are only saying a couple of weeks now.

I'd expect the likes of Everton, Chelsea and Spurs would rather face a team that doesn't have Andy Carroll in the squad.

Re: Carroll Injured Again
Carroll had averaged over 40 games a season in the three years before he joined us.

Might be wrong but iirc the vast majority (myself included) were hugely in favour of him signing.

FWIW I don't agree either. Zarate hogged the ball, lost it and didn't chase back.

Despite his goals and moments of brilliance MZ had that whiff having the ability to upset the applecart. He confirmed that by claiming Slav never played him in his best position. I think he should be pleased he got picked to play.

I like the look of Emenike and hope he does well on Sunday.

"There's a fairly strong chance that you'll all be all over Eminike like a rash if he gets a run in the team."

Not really sure what that means to be honest but if it means I'll be supporting Eminike and hoping he does brilliantly for us and scores plenty of goals then you're not wrong.

I'm not sure why any West Ham fan would want anything different.

Re: Carroll Injured Again
All of a sudden and off the back of an excellent loan spell lots of people never wanted him in the first place.

I'm sure they just sit there when Carroll scores the winner against Chelsea.

And like I've also said ..... There's a fairly strong chance that you'll all be all over Eminike like a rash if he gets a run in the team. Best striker we've got by some way in my book.

Re: Carroll Injured Again

Genuine question croe? Genuine answer .... i was saying it before we signed him in the most ridiculous bit of business we've ever done. I said then that he'd never play 20 games in a season or score 10 goals. So, yes I was.

whufcroe 2:33 Fri Feb 19
Re: Carroll Injured Again
The only thing you could say and hope is he's picking up minor run of the mill injuries and not anything serious which does tend to happen when players are coming back from a serious injury and given a good pre-season might be able to get 100%.

Fingers cross

It's a massive frustration as he's showed some good form when he's played.

I think we'll have to accept he's going to be unavailable for parts of the season and address it in the summer with a new striker at least.

Re: Carroll Injured Again
He must be despairing of ever getting a decent run of games together.

There are very few people who get good at this game who don't love playing it.

Which is only two weeks, but unlikely he'll be back until after Everton. Shame as I'd loved to have had him available in some capacity for Spurs.

The manager didn't agree

I'd rather Zarate than Emenike from the looks of things. One is a moody bastard but has loads of ability, the other one is approaching 50 but seems like a nice bloke.

Were you calling him a joke when he scored the winner against Chelsea? Turned in a superb performance to help secure the double over Liverpool or the important headers he won to help rescue the game last weekend?

Re: Carroll Injured Again
Says David Sullivan. He made it very clear that 1st team players had to leave in order to bring players in. Plus the fact Zarate has done nothing but slag the club off since he left, gurning about how he wasn't utilised right, wasn't happy here etc, fuck him, totally overrated anyway and never stays commited for long
